I just got an email from a web site telling me to log in to see the stud of the week. I thought, who picks these poor people? Does one get too bored with picking out A-list from D-list? ("Oh, I'm just so sick of staring at hot guys. THEY'RE ALL HOT!")

Some low-level intern or actual paid editor sits down for an hour or more flipping through photos on a screen?

Going, "NononononoMaybeNoNoNoOMGNO..." ... and then stumbling across someone special and arresting?

Probably most of the time these days it can be automated, with the number of page views one profile gets; if the profile gets more views, it gets a high rating. Then, if someone's picked at random to mix it up, it can be approved or not (since the machine can't tell without expensive software if the guy is attractive to humans or not).
